“Friendship” by Aleksei Stepanov, early 1900s

What makes another person so attractive to you? It can be different things for different people. But one thing is for sure, as Zora Neale Hurston said: “Love makes your soul crawl out from its hiding place.”

The Soul Mate is the part of us that has a deep need for love. When we are born, we bond with our family. As we grow, we begin to express our Soul Mate in friendships. As adults, the Soul Mate is the part of us that feels deeply connected to another person.

The Soul Mate usually begins to express itself more fully in the teen years. It’s important to be prepared for the strong feelings you may have when your Soul Mate is expressing itself. Learn about the Danger Zone for Soul Mates in Know Thyself: A Kid’s Guide to the Archetypes.
